What is the Protein Calculator & How does it work?
Protein is essential for muscle repair and growth. The amount needed depends on body weight, activity level, and personal goals like maintenance, muscle gain, or weight loss.
For maintenance, a general guideline is 0.8 grams of protein per kilogram of body weight. For muscle gain, increase to 1.6-2.2 grams/kg. Weight loss may require up to 3.5 grams/kg to preserve muscle mass while reducing calories.
