Confidence Interval Calculator
Calculate confidence interval for a population mean.
What is the Confidence Interval Calculator & How does it work?
A confidence interval estimates the range within which a population parameter lies based on sample data. It provides an indication of the precision of the estimate.
The width of the interval depends on the sample size, standard deviation, and chosen confidence level. A higher confidence level results in a wider interval, reflecting greater uncertainty. Conversely, increasing the sample size narrows the interval, offering a more precise estimate.
\[ \text{CI} = \bar{x} \pm Z_{\alpha/2} \left( \frac{s}{\sqrt{n}} \right) \]
\(\bar{x}\) = sample mean, \(Z_{\alpha/2}\) = Z-score corresponding to the desired confidence level, \(s\) = standard deviation, \(n\) = sample size
