PORT CALCULATOR Triathlon Target Heart Rate Calculator Calculate your optimal heart rate for triathlon training to enhance performance.
📖
What is the Triathlon Target Heart Rate Calculator & How does it work?

A target heart rate is a range of beats per minute (BPM) that you aim to maintain during exercise. For triathletes, this helps in optimizing endurance and intensity.

The formula for calculating the target heart rate is based on your maximum heart rate (HRmax). A common method is to use the Karvonen formula:

THR = [(220 – Age) – Resting HR] \times %Intensity + Resting HR
THR = Target Heart Rate, Age = Your age in years, Resting HR = Your resting heart rate, %Intensity = Desired exercise intensity (e.g., 0.7 for moderate intensity).

Understanding and maintaining your target heart rate can significantly improve your training effectiveness and help prevent overtraining.
