What is the Swim Drag Calculator & How does it work?

Swimming efficiency is significantly influenced by the drag force exerted by water. The drag force depends on the swimmer’s body position, speed, and the shape of their body in the water.

The formula to calculate drag force (Fd) is given by:

F_d = \frac{1}{2} C_d A v^2 \rho
C_d = drag coefficient, A = cross-sectional area, v = velocity, \rho = density of water (approximately 1000 kg/m3)
