What is the Molar Mass of Gas Calculator & How does it work?
The molar mass of a gas can be calculated using the ideal gas law, which relates the pressure (P), volume (V), temperature (T), and amount of substance (n) in moles. The formula is:
PV = nRT
P = Pressure, V = Volume, n = Moles, R = Gas constant (0.0821 L·atm/(mol·K)), T = Temperature in Kelvin
To find the molar mass (M), we rearrange the formula to solve for n, and then use the definition of molar mass:M = (m / n) where m is the mass of the gas. However, since we are dealing with gases, it’s more common to use the ideal gas law to find moles first.
