What is the Miller Indices Calculator & How does it work?
Miller indices are a notation system used in crystallography to describe the orientation of planes and directions within crystals.
To calculate Miller indices, you need the intercepts of a plane with the x, y, and z axes. The formula for Miller indices (hkl) is derived from these intercepts:
\frac{1}{a} = h, \frac{1}{b} = k, \frac{1}{c} = l
a, b, c = intercepts on the x, y, and z axes respectively.

The indices are then normalized to integers by finding their least common multiple (LCM) and dividing each index by this value.
