CHEMISTRY CALCULATORS Langmuir Isotherm Calculator Calculate adsorption using the Langmuir isotherm equation for chemists and researchers.
📖
What is the Langmuir Isotherm Calculator & How does it work?
The Langmuir isotherm model describes the adsorption of gas molecules on a solid surface. It assumes that each adsorption site can only hold one molecule, and there are no interactions between adsorbed molecules.
The equation for the Langmuir isotherm is given by:
\[ q = \frac{Q_m K p}{1 + K p} \]
q = amount of adsorbed gas (moles)
Qm = maximum monolayer capacity (moles per unit mass or volume)
K = Langmuir constant
p = pressure of the gas (atm)
This model is widely used in chemical engineering and physical chemistry to understand adsorption processes.
