Field Position Control (FPCT) is a metric used in American football to measure how effectively a team maintains possession of the ball and advances it down the field. It’s calculated by dividing the number of successful plays that advance the ball by the total number of plays.
A high FPCT indicates that a team is efficient at gaining yardage on each play, which can lead to more scoring opportunities and better overall performance.
Successful Plays = Number of plays that advance the ball
Total Plays = Total number of offensive plays
