What is the Efg Calculator & How does it work?
The Effective Field Goal Percentage (eFG%) is a statistic used in basketball to measure a player’s shooting efficiency, taking into account the increased value of three-point field goals compared to two-point field goals.
eFG\% = \frac{2P + 0.5 \times 3P}{FGA}
2P = Two-point field goals made
3P = Three-point field goals made
FGA = Field goal attempts
3P = Three-point field goals made
FGA = Field goal attempts
This formula adjusts the traditional field goal percentage by giving three-pointers a weight of 1.5 times that of two-pointers, providing a more accurate representation of shooting efficiency.
