PORT CALCULATOR Badminton Shuttle Speed Calculator Calculate the speed of a badminton shuttlecock based on temperature and altitude.
📖
What is the Badminton Shuttle Speed Calculator & How does it work?

The speed of a badminton shuttlecock is influenced by atmospheric conditions such as temperature and altitude. Higher temperatures can increase the speed due to reduced air density, while higher altitudes decrease it because of thinner air.

v = \sqrt{\frac{2g}{C_d A} \left( m – \frac{1}{2} \rho v^2 C_d A \right)} + v_0
v = final velocity, C_d = drag coefficient, A = cross-sectional area, m = mass of the shuttlecock, \rho = air density, g = acceleration due to gravity, v_0 = initial velocity

The formula accounts for the balance between gravitational force and aerodynamic drag. The shuttlecock’s speed is thus a function of these environmental factors.
