Fondant Sugar Calculator

Fondant is a type of rolled icing used in baking, particularly for covering cakes. The amount of sugar required depends on the size of the cake and the desired thickness of the fondant layer.

The formula to calculate the amount of fondant needed is based on the surface area of the cake. For a cylindrical cake, the surface area (excluding the top) can be calculated using the formula: \( A = 2\pi rh + \pi d^2 \), where \( r \) is the radius, \( h \) is the height, and \( d \) is the diameter of the cake.
